Nasr-Abad salt dome is located in 50 km of Kashan-Qom road. It will be the first salt dome in the Middle-East which is studied in order to store natural gas. Primarily conducted studies show that reservoir capacity of the dome is 3-4.5 milliard cubic meters. Phase 1 of the project includes acquisition, processing and interpretation of gravity & magneto telluric data, and also acquisition, processing and interpretation of 200 sq km of 3D seismic data, drilling an exploratory well, conducting well-logging and laboratory studies. In case of satisfaction of the study results in phase 1, preparing the scope of work of phase 2 and master development plan of the reservoir will be also carried out by this consortium. Operation of seismic data acquisition will be done by utilizing of vibrators and dynamites.
