Senior Electrician

Role Overview


As a Senior Electrician, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring 24/7 availability during your shift to prevent any interruptions in drilling operations.
  • Conducting routine inspections of electrical components in engines, machinery, and drilling equipment—including all relevant connections—to ensure operational readiness and compliance with required technical standards.
  • Reviewing handover reports from subordinate team members, assigning remaining tasks, and preparing detailed maintenance reports upon job completion.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving electrical malfunctions and performing repairs and adjustments on engines, machinery, and drilling equipment.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of all maintenance activities, including formal handover reports and verbal briefings on the condition and status of equipment to the electrical supervisor.
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in power generation, distribution, and reinforcement systems by analyzing electrical schematics and wiring diagrams—helping ensure timely equipment recovery and uninterrupted drilling operations.
  • Supervising, guiding, and mentoring the electrical maintenance team in proper equipment care, preventive inspections, and maintenance routines at the rig site and in camp facilities—aligned with the pre-defined maintenance schedules.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (minimum requirement)
  • At least 7 years of experience in electrical systems maintenance, preferably in drilling or oil & gas operations
  • Willingness to work in remote onshore project locations and be on-call as required
  • Proficient in electrical diagnostics and system troubleshooting
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and circuit diagrams
  • Experienced in planning and executing preventive maintenance
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills
  • Familiar with safety protocols and high-voltage system handling
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
