Medic

Role Overview

As a Medic, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and implementing preventive measures to control the spread of endemic, regional, national, and global infectious diseases within the project site.
  • Conducting active case finding and disease surveillance during outbreaks, and reporting cases to the project HSE supervisor.
  • Providing daily clinical services at the onsite clinic, including patient consultations, medication prescriptions, and administering injections, and submitting daily reports to the HSE supervisor.
  • Planning and executing occupational health screening programs (annual, pre-employment, and ad-hoc), and monitoring cases with conditional medical records until resolution.
  • Implementing company standards for environmental and public health across the site—including camps, operational lines, and security stations—by completing required forms and checklists and reporting findings daily.
  • Overseeing the repair, maintenance, and calibration of all medical equipment, and ensuring proper upkeep of ambulances and their medical supplies in accordance with company checklists.
  • Managing the project’s pharmaceutical inventory and coordinating procurement of medical supplies based on local and project-specific risk assessments.
  • Delivering regular training to paramedics and medical staff, tailored to environmental conditions and potential health hazards.
  • Collaborating with HSE supervisors during incidents to record clinical observations, preserve scene evidence, and report initial medical assessments and life-saving interventions provided until patient transfer to medical facilities.
  • Preparing incident-specific medical reports as requested by project stakeholders under the supervision of the HSE Lead.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (General Practitioner) degree (minimum required)
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Age between 25 to 45 years old
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
  • Proficient in emergency medical services and pre-hospital care
  • Familiar with occupational health and HSE management systems
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Familiar with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Responsible, empathetic, and proactive
