Senior Mechanic

Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance and repair activities for drilling equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
  • Oversee a team of mechanics to ensure safe, efficient, and effective maintenance operations.
  • Perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with drilling engineers to schedule maintenance activities around drilling operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards during maintenance work.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and procurement to ensure availability for maintenance tasks.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to mechanics to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, documentation, and analyze trends to optimize maintenance strategies.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in equipment maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education. Technical certifications in mechanical or related fields are preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in drilling or oil and gas industry.
  • Solid technical knowledge of drilling equipment, mechanical systems, and hydraulics.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing maintenance teams effectively.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools for tracking and analysis.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in budgeting, cost control, and resource management.
  • Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to changing operational requirements.
  • Relevant certifications in maintenance management or related fields are a plus.
