Responsibilities
- Lead maintenance and repair activities for drilling equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
- Oversee a team of mechanics to ensure safe, efficient, and effective maintenance operations.
- Perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with drilling engineers to schedule maintenance activities around drilling operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards during maintenance work.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement to ensure availability for maintenance tasks.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and training to mechanics to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Prepare maintenance reports, documentation, and analyze trends to optimize maintenance strategies.
- Manage maintenance budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in equipment maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education. Technical certifications in mechanical or related fields are preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in drilling or oil and gas industry.
- Solid technical knowledge of drilling equipment, mechanical systems, and hydraulics.
- Proven experience in leading and managing maintenance teams effectively.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools for tracking and analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in budgeting, cost control, and resource management.
- Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to changing operational requirements.
- Relevant certifications in maintenance management or related fields are a plus.
