Responsibilities
- Lead and execute financial audits of the company’s operations, subsidiaries, and business units.
- Plan and coordinate audit engagements, including risk assessment, scope definition, and audit programs.
- Conduct detailed examinations of financial records, transactions, and internal controls for accuracy and compliance.
- Identify financial and operational risks, control weaknesses, and process inefficiencies during audits.
- Prepare audit findings, recommendations, and comprehensive audit reports for management review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement audit recommendations and corrective actions.
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to financial audits.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior audit staff members, fostering professional growth.
- Communicate audit results and findings to senior management, Audit Committee, and external auditors.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of audit policies, procedures, and methodologies.
- Participate in special projects, investigations, and initiatives as directed by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial auditing, with exposure to the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of financial audit methodologies, internal controls, and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate and thorough audit examinations.
- Effective communication skills for presenting audit findings and interacting with stakeholders.
- Leadership abilities with experience in leading and managing audit engagements.
- Experience in managing and guiding junior audit staff members.
- Proficiency in audit software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple audit projects, and meet deadlines.
- Ethical conduct, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential financial information.
- Strong organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and execute audit engagements efficiently.
- Knowledge of the oil and gas industry’s financial operations and reporting is a plus.
