Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate drilling and completion activities at the wellsite, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Collaborate with drilling engineers to implement drilling plans and optimize wellbore construction.
- Monitor drilling parameters, wellbore conditions, and equipment performance in real-time.
- Lead a team of drilling and completion crew members, providing guidance and ensuring efficient operations.
- Coordinate with service contractors and vendors to ensure timely and accurate execution of services.
- Conduct safety briefings and meetings, enforcing safety protocols and fostering a culture of safety awareness.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of drilling and completion activities, equipment status, and incidents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of wellsite operations.
- Participate in well control and emergency response procedures as required.
- Monitor and report on drilling progress, performance metrics, and operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies during operations.
- Prepare and review operational reports and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, drilling engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in wellsite supervision within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of drilling practices, well construction, and completion techniques.
- Proficiency in wellsite operations, equipment, and industry safety protocols.
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse crew.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making skills during operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey information clearly and collaborate effectively.
- Experience in managing service contractors, vendors, and third-party stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to changing operational requirements.
- Commitment to safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and environmental protection.
- Proficiency in well control procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Relevant certifications such as IWCF or IADC are preferred.
