Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the accounting function within the Investment business segment of the oil and gas company.
- Oversee the financial reporting, consolidation, and analysis of investment portfolio performance.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with industry standards.
- Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes for the investment business segment.
- Provide financial insights to support investment decision-making and portfolio management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and complete financial data.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and accounting standards, ensuring compliance.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process for investment entities.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Drive process improvements in accounting operations and reporting efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience in investment accounting and familiarity with investment industry practices.
- Proven track record in managing accounting operations and financial reporting for investment portfolios.
- Leadership experience with the ability to guide and mentor accounting teams.
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.
- Strong communication skills to convey financial information and insights to stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Adaptability to changing accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ethical conduct, integrity, and confidentiality in handling financial data.
- Knowledge of the oil and gas industry and investment practices is a plus.
