Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the public equity investment strategies and portfolio management within the Investment business segment.
- Develop and execute investment plans to maximize returns and align with the company’s financial goals.
- Monitor global financial markets, economic trends, and industry developments to inform investment decisions.
- Manage a team of investment professionals, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance.
- Conduct thorough research and due diligence on potential public equity investments.
- Make informed investment recommendations based on comprehensive analysis and risk assessment.
- Manage and optimize the existing public equity portfolio, adjusting strategies as market conditions change.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of investment strategies with overall business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, fund managers, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare investment reports, presentations, and updates for executive management and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and best practices in investment management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, CFA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in investment management, with a focus on public equity.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment analysis, and portfolio management.
- Proven track record of successful public equity investment strategies and portfolio performance.
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor investment teams.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to evaluate investment opportunities and risks.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and data interpretation.
- Effective communication and presentation skills for conveying complex investment concepts.
- Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities to drive investment initiatives.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to public equity investments.
- Strong network and relationships within the investment community.
- Adaptability to changing market conditions and evolving investment trends.
- Familiarity with the oil and gas industry and energy sector is a plus.
