Senior Safety Specialist (Operations)

Role Overview

  • Supervising the implementation of safety requirements in the company’s operational activities and contractors.
  • Assisting in developing an operational HSE plan to ensure the necessary safety requirements are met in operational activities.
  • Assisting in the development and review of HSE procedures and prerequisites.
  • Conducting and responding to field HSE audits and safety controls, as well as monitoring on-site safety during operational activities.
  • Collecting, reviewing, and providing technical data and statistics for periodic HSE reports related to operational activities.
  • Providing advice and assistance to site personnel on preventive and corrective actions necessary to implement the company’s and contractors’ HSE plans properly.
  • I assist in preparing progress reports on the implementation of projects, goals, and activities related to HSE in operational activities.
  • Reviewing HSE technical documents and work instructions and providing appropriate feedback to managers and supervisors.
  • Preparing and compiling reports on any incidents (occupational, environmental, etc.) assisting in conducting investigations, and following up on operational incidents.
  • Intervening and stopping any activities that pose an immediate threat to the safety and health of employees or create serious environmental impacts.
  • Participating in emergency response plan implementation, training sessions, and drills relevant to operational activities.
  • Assisting and participating in JSA/JHA meetings and providing preventive and corrective actions.
  • Conducting and reviewing the process of identifying and assessing risks related to operational activities.
  • Ensuring the availability of safety certificates for equipment and machinery and verifying their performance.
  • Ensuring the implementation of critical operational procedures such as PTW, SIMOPS, LOTO, ERP, Gas Testing, inspections related to safety control systems, etc.
  • Assisting and participating in TBM meetings as needed and ensuring their effectiveness.
  • Conducting specialized HSE workshops and training sessions relevant to operational activities for personnel.
  • Daily reporting of HSE observations and effective follow-up of observations until results are obtained (non-conformance resolution) and assisting others in adhering to relevant methods.
  • Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to conducted HSE inspections.
  • Full compliance with HSE requirements and regulations, especially life-saving rules, as an exemplary individual.
  • Ensuring the implementation of all procedures, plans, laws, regulations, guidelines, and all HSE requirements related to operational activities.
  • Following up and performing delegated tasks by the direct supervisor.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of HSE, with at least 5 years in the oil and gas industry.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • NEBOSH certification (considered as a plus)
  • Authorized Gas Testing
  • ISO 45001, 14001, and 29001 auditing
  • Industrial facilities safety inspections
  • Certification of safety and technical protection experts
  • Firefighting and rescue operations
  • Familiarity with national and international laws and regulations related to HSE
  • Completion of specialized HSE courses relevant to oil and gas operational activities
  • Proficiency in IFS (ERP software)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
