Data management has become an important matter in the oil and gas industry as the volumes of data generated by the industry have increased significantly, thus driving the demand for high-performance processing and data storage solutions. The upstream sector, in particular, is contributing to the bulk of the data generated from oil and gas processes. In order to facilitate warehousing and mining of this operational data, companies are leveraging the advantages of data centers and high-performance computing (HPC) systems.

High processing capacity and superior quality of data processing, after geographical studies, help us to evaluate the project requirements and determine the exact location of the accumulation of oil and gas reservoirs. This is made possible through the integration of advanced computing hardware with a wide range of specialized oil and gas software, along with the expertise of skilled and experienced employees.

The data center plays a vital role in this field by providing solutions for managing big data. Dana Energy is investing in its own data center to gain the ability to process data with excellent quality and competitive pace to generate insights to create revenue opportunities, increase operational performance and improve financial returns.

Dana Energy’s Geophysical Services is experiencing rapid growth in the use of processing capacity and data storage. Our data center provides the ideal platform to accumulate this data and apply big data analytics. Based on our business continuity plan, we also provide high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery mechanism in the event of a critical system failure.

Dana Energy has invested over $20 million in building our datacenter infrastructure and over $12 million in research and development of our high-performance computing (HPC) cluster. As a result, Dana Energy’s datacenter undergoes extensive audits as required by the compliance portfolio. The level of maturity in Dana Energy’s datacenters is evaluated based on compliance with the ANSI/TIA-942 Tier 2 Telecommunications Infrastructure of Datacenters Standard, while our programs operate in alignment with Tier 3.

Our HPC cluster is built on the finest seismic solution practices. These solutions, powered by HPE processing units, Dell EMC and NetApp storages with high-throughput networking are ready to process large amounts of data within a reasonable time frame.
